Accounting Manager, ERP

Minnetonka, MN/Hybrid (Highly Preferred) or San Diego, CA/Hybrid

Schedule: Standard Office Hours

Duration: 12-Month Contract

Pay:$59-64.50/ph



Our client is a leading biotechnology company developing innovative, enzyme-based therapies designed to improve the delivery and absorption of biologics.



Job Responsibilities:

In this role, you will manage core accounting functions and support financial reporting processes in a biotechnology environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing general ledger areas including:
    • Partner invoicing and vendor accounts
    • Fixed assets and lease accounting
    • Cash, investments, and treasury management
    • R&D, SG&A, and outsourced manufacturing contracts
    • Royalties, prepaids, and deferred revenue
  • Leading month-end and quarter-end close activities
  • Reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements
  • Supporting financial audits and tax preparation



Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Train, develop, and mentor direct reports within the accounting team
  • Review vendor setup in accounting systems and AP platforms
  • Work cross-functionally with project managers and external vendors to manage accruals
  • Monitor fixed asset activity including additions, disposals, and construction in progress
  • Maintain lease amortization schedules and approve lease-related entries
  • Manage treasury processes including bank reconciliations and investment entries
  • Review and validate deferred revenue reconciliations and space allocation entries
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to support SOX 404 compliance
  • Prepare financial schedules for quarterly reviews, annual audits, and tax filings
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial processes and reporting



Knowledge & Skills:

  • Proficiency in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control procedures
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and working independently
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with external auditors and consultants
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (Great Plains preferred) and Microsoft Office




Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of management experience preferred
  • CPA license and/or public accounting (Big Four) experience preferred
  • Experience with SOX compliance, public companies, or multinational organizations
  • Industry experience in biotechnology or pharmaceuticals highly desirable
