A leading biotech company is seeking a Sr. Associate Scientist to join their team in advancing cutting-edge research in advanced imaging. This role will involve working with antibodies, fluorescent markers, and tissue clearing protocols in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This opportunity is offered on an initial 1 year contracting basis, and is based onsite in South San Francisco, CA. As a w2 contract worker you are eligible to a benefits package including health/dental/vision/life insurance, a 401k vehicle and more.
Hourly rate:$45-55/hr (~$90-110,000/year).
Key Responsibilities:
- Screen, validate, and optimize antibodies and fluorescent markers for downstream applications.
- Develop antibody panels and perform immunohistochemistry experiments.
- Optimize and execute tissue clearing protocols across various tissue types.
- Image samples using widefield and automated slide imaging microscopes.
- Communicate findings to cross-functional teams effectively.
Qualifications:
- BS/MS in microscopy, biology, biochemistry, neuroscience, or a related field.
- 1-4 years of experience in academic or industry research settings.
- Hands-on experience with tissue immunofluorescence.
- Proficiency in using fluorescence microscopes (widefield and/or automated slide scanners).
- Strong track record in designing, performing, analyzing, and documenting experiments.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in tissue clearing and/or lightsheet microscopy.
- Familiarity with open-source (FIJI, QuPath) or commercial (Imaris, Arivis, Halo) software for image analysis.
