I'm looking for a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer with expertise in Terraform, Kafka, and data security. You’ll be responsible for designing and maintaining secure, scalable infrastructure, with a focus on Kafka, backup strategies, and event-driven architecture. You'll also contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation within the team.
This role is INSIDE IR35 and needs 2-3 days per week ON-SITE in London
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership of Terraform modules, building and maintaining scalable, secure infrastructure.
- Implement security best practices including public vs private networks, mTLS, and OAuth for authentication.
- Design and optimize event-driven architectures using Kafka, including Kafka Streams, Queues, and Connectors.
- Lead schema registry adoption and ensure best practices are followed for Kafka.
- Design data loss prevention strategies, including backup and replication for high availability.
- Manage on-premise environments, with strong experience in Linux, bash scripting, and Docker.
- Work with open-source Kafka, optimizing clusters and ensuring scalability.
- Develop clear documentation and actively contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience with Terraform and Kafka(both open-source and Confluent).
- Expertise in Linux, bash, Docker, and on-premise infrastructure management.
- Experience with data protection, backup strategies, and replication.
- Solid security background with knowledge of mTLS, OAuth, and network segmentation.
- Excellent at documentation and knowledge sharing within a collaborative team.
