Summary

Seeking a skilled and highly motivated temporary Senior or Principal Research Associate to support our genetic perturbations efforts. Primary responsibilities include setting up genetic perturbation screens, validating cell lines and assisting in the development and testing of new systems and assays. As part of this role you will be working closely with teams of biologists and automation engineers to test and improve assays and will be reporting your results to those teams.

Responsibilities

  • Perform medium-throughput (100s of targets) genetic perturbations and downstream analysis
  • Interact with researchers to incorporate new strategies, update on progress and present results
  • Undertake routine cell culture tasks
  • Meticulous record keeping of experiments
  • Write and modify SOPs as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology
  • Familiarity with gene editing technologies (CRISPR-Cas9 and its derivatives), including the delivery of RNP, DNA and RNA via lipid transfection, nucleofection and viral transduction
  • Experience with FACS, ELISA, qPCR, RNAseq, etc
  • Prior use of laboratory automation systems (liquid handlers, plate readers)
  • Experience with clonal isolation of mammalian cells
  • Attention to detail and good documentation practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally with teams in a fast-paced environment
