Position Summary:
This position will support the Regional Construction Management function within Global Facilities and provide budgetary, financial, accounting, and other support to team members who lead construction project design and execution in an energetic and fast-paced environment.
The role is responsible for controlling the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring timely project reporting to leadership executives and collaborating with business partners to ensure adherence to corporate and organizational policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in accounting, job costing, contract administration, and financial analysis specific to the construction industry.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Work with project team to develop project budgets and forecasts, ensuring costs and fees are aligned with estimates and providing insights into potential cost savings or overruns,
- Work closely with project managers in review and processing of progress billings, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing to ensure billing milestones are met,
- Review contracts and invoicing to ensure adherence to all applicable contract terms, including compliance with prevailing wage requirements and other construction-specific regulations,
- Perform detailed cost analysis for ongoing and archived projects, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions,
- Assist in monthly forecasting and project status reporting including analysis of internal cost control documentation, financial accrual, and actual reporting,
- Support monthly cost control and project status reports and create periodic dashboard style summaries for leadership review,
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation related to construction projects for audits, reviews, and internal controls,
- Ensure audit readiness by conducting annual mock audits of invoicing, and contract control,
- Work closely with other departments (project management, procurement, and finance) to support project-related accounting needs and ensure smooth project execution,
- Providing continuous feedback and improvement recommendations to team leaders on experiences gained with personnel or process,
- Assist team and leaders in staff training and training plan creation, and
- Daily operational support and other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must understand principles and practices of construction contract administration and have experience working in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry,
- Must have experience with procurement, contract management and purchase management specific to the AEC industry,
- Must have applied knowledge of construction industry-specific regulations and compliance standards (e.g., prevailing wages, union contracts, etc.),
- Must have deep knowledge of construction accounting practices, job costing, and
- Must demonstrate proficiency specifically in Microsoft Excel and other accounting and database software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with job costing software specific to the construction industry such as Procore, Viewpoint, Sage 100/300, etc.,
- Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) certification or similar credential.
Education & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in AEC industry accounting or equivalent industry work experience.
